Veterans Day 2008 : Time

On this day, as so many others...I remember, for I will never forget.

Most people say that time heals all....

I disagree...time cannot heal all wounds to the heart and soul....to the mind...to ones memory.

Instead, I have learned that time simply puts space and distance between that first soul shattering heartbreak of total, devastating loss.

Time does not lessen the hurt, nor the grief.

Time simply allows us to manage that hurt and grief in a more functional way, so that we can live out the remainder of our days until we see our loved one again.
